Rare Absolon blue barrel tumbler gilded with the verse ‘Friendship’s the Greatest Gift We Mortals Share / It Heightens Pleasure, Softens Every Care’ the reverse ‘A Trifle from Yarmouth / Love and Live Happy’. C1795.
Condition: Good with no chips, cracks or restoration. Some typical wear to the gilding.
Absolon appears to have started decorating glass after his move 25 Market Row Gt. Yarmouth in 1789.
