Antique glass - blue bonnet glasses
Blue bonnet glass the double ogee bowl with reticulated moulding. Pontil scar to underside of foot. English c1780.
Rim dia: 6.2 cm.
Foot dia: 5.2 cm.
Condition: Very good.
Note: Bonnet glasses were used on the table for for dry sweetmeats. Such glasses have been incorrectly termed as monteiths by E. Barringgton Haynes (1941) and consequently referred to as such by later writers.
